"I used to be afraid of spiders. One summer they were EVERYWHERE. Repeatedly, I would find them in my bed, clothes, hair, on my friends, on my ceiling about to drop onto me. I once tore my dress off outside in a panic to get one out of it. After that I resolved to stop being so afraid of them and I made this painting. I still don't want to share a dress with one. But I do like to let them be. And I like to watch them weave. And when I find one very near to me I just say hello."
